Course Description
This class will extend students' understanding of ratios and develop understanding of proportionality to solve single and multistep problems. Students will also develop a unified understanding of number, recognizing fractions, decimals, and percents s different representations of rational numbers. Students will continue solving problems involving area and circumference of a circle and surface area or 3D shapes. Finally, students will build on their previous work with single data distributions to compare two data distributions and address questions about differences between populations.
Students will engage in various activities before each lesson in order to discover it's purpose, as the common core standards require more attention to the process than the product.
